Ecohub highly commended at RICS awards

The Ecohub has been 'highly commended' earlier this month at the RICS Award under the 'community benefit' category. Client Paul Ely pictured with awards sponsor at Kensington Palace. The Olympic Park led the awards, so we were delighted that the Ecohub joined such team!

The Retro-Expo Awards 2012 report

Cath Jordan from Sanctuary Housing and Simon Thompson from Seddons, the contractors, joined Fran Bradshaw of ATA at the Retro-Expo awards on the 31st October, to celebrate 23 St Luke Street retrofit as a finalist for the Domestic Retrofit Project of the Year award.

This is the first year of the Expo Retro and the Awards, which were introduced by Birmingham City Councillor who reminded people what retrofit is doing in terms of making people's lives more comfortable as well as lowering energy bills.

Awards for innovation included a heat recovery Passivent system, and I was delighted that Penny Poysner - who introduced the AECB summer conference - and her partner Gill Sholom won the DECC pioneer award - for long term contribution to low carbon retrofit.

The AECB stall was buzzing as ever, and it was clearly the first ExpoRetro of many!

Stoke house retrofit shortlisted for award

23 St Luke Street has been shortlisted for Domestic Retrofit Project of the Year in the Retro Expo Awards. Nearly 100 entries were received and the judges were extremely impressed with the high quality across the board. The Awards will be presented at an evening reception on Wednesday 31 October at Retro Expo. More info on our website.

Eco-hub shortlisted for sustainability award

The Eco-hub at Lordship Park has been been shortlisted in the category of 'Sustainable Project of the Year' by the Builder and Engineer Awards 2012! Good choice!

Pin The Catch...

'The Catch', an artwork by artist Loraine Leeson of cSPACE in collaboration with Anne Thorne Architect's has been voted by the public to represent as the most popular local london landmark to represent the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham on a special pin badge to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics!

The Catch is a gateway public artwork for Barking Town Centre that reflects the borough's Saxon heritage and involvement in the fishing industry.

Sustainable Housing Awards 2010 Finalist

Anne Thorne Architect's have been nominated as finalists in the 'Sustainable Social Housing Design Consultancy of the Year' at the Sustainable Housing Awards 2010!

The nomination highlights ATA's ground-breaking work in this sector for projects such as Angela Carter Close, Bateman Mews, Tulse Hill, Boatemah Walk, and Retrofit for the Future projects.

Batemans Mews Shortlisted for Special RIBA Award!

ATA are delighted to announce that following our RIBA London Award 2010, 1-5 Bateman Mews was short-listed for the prestigious RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize 2010.  This special RIBA Award recognises the best example of projects that have a construction budget of under £1 million.

Anne and Junko of ATA attended the glitzy RIBA Stirling Prize Awards dinner at the Roundhouse in Camden, broadcast live on BBC2, to see Zaha Hadid collect her long overdue Stirling Prize.
